My name is Belinda Matthews. I live and paint on the Wiltshire/Hampshire edge of the New Forest, surrounded by fantastic countryside and the hardworking people and animals who help to maintain it.
When I left Winchester, having studied Fine Art, I trained and worked for many years as a graphic designer for a leading electronics company. After a break from my career, to have a family, I returned to painting and over the years have produced a considerable amount of work for clients and exhibitions.
My specialist subject is gundogs and terriers. I grew up on a private estate near Winchester, and enjoyed beating on the local shoot where spaniels and labradors were plentiful. This ignited my passion for working dogs.
My style is detailed realism, showing everyday animals doing everyday things and most importanty capturing their character.
